Cleaning hacks that will make your life easier

Time is the most expensive thing in today’s world. On an average, a person spends maximum time of his/ her life in keeping their surroundings clean, especially homemakers. Cleanings hacks are like those special life-saving techniques that will help you in saving time while cleaning your house and making it a hygienic place to live.

1. Use vinegar to remove water stains
Stains of hard water on glasses and crockery are a nightmare to clean without actually damaging the utensils. They consume time, energy and detergent. To save all of this all that you need to do is take a piece of cloth and dip it in vinegar. Wipe it over the expensive glasses and crockery and see them glimmer away in glory.

2. Use toothbrush to clean your keyboard
The dust between the keys keeps on depositing while you keep figuring out the right way to get there and clean it all up without damaging it. The only way to do that is to use a toothbrush whose bristles will reach inside and wipe the dust away.

3. Use baking soda to clean the utensils
Cooking utensils such as deep frying pans and cookers are on the stove long enough to get burnt. Those burn marks are very tough to remove and after several minutes of rubbing and scratching all you accomplish is not worth the mention. So save yourself the time take baking soda, apply it to the marks and leave it there for a few minutes before you clean it off.

Rings formed by water make your furniture look old and unsightly. Those white colored water rings are quite visible. So if you have decided to change your furniture because of those stubborn rings that refuse to go away, here is a trick to save you some money. All you need to do is hold a blow dryer close to those rings and turn it on. In just a few minutes, you’ll see them go away.

6. Use talcum powder to remove grease from clothes
Grease is a very sticky kind of stain that you tend to get on your clothes by sliding past the doors, windows or shutters. Because of their oily and sticky texture they are extremely stubborn when it comes to removing them. If you don’t know the right trick, you might as well end up retiring that cloth forever. The cleaning hack for grease is just to put some talcum powder on the stained area and then wash the cloth as usual. By the time the cloth comes out all washed up from the machine, the grease stain would long have gone.

7. Use vinegar and baking soda to clean your washing machine.
First a salute to a machine that cleans everything! If you’re trying to clean the machine itself, then all you need to do is

  • Fill it up with hot water.
  • Add at least 3 to 4 cups of vinegar to it depending upon its capacity.
  • Wait for a minute and then add half a cup of baking soda to it.
  • Once you have completed these steps, spin your washing machine for half an hour.
  • Drain the water and Voila!

8. Remove the smell coming from the refrigerator using newspapers
Smell coming from the refrigerator is one of the most common problems encountered in every household now day. The cleaning hack for this is quite easy. All you need to do is

  • Take a newspaper and roll it up
  • Keep it in the refrigerator
  • Let it be there overnight
  • Take it out the next morning and the smell will be gone. The newspaper absorbs that unpleasant smell making your refrigerator smell all fresh.

9. Use lemon to remove marks from taps and faucets
Removing marks from taps and faucets is a tiresome task. Running around doing that from all the faucets and taps in your home can take up to half a day. Once you know the cleaning hack for them the time will be drastically decreased. Here is what you need to do.

  • Take a lemon and cut it in half.
  • Rub half a piece of lemon on the marks on the faucets and taps.
  • Wipe it with a cloth dipped in clean water and they will come out sparkling clean.

10. Use salt to clean cast iron
Iron is prone to rust. So if you have a few cast iron pots and skillets, and they have been rusting for some time now, don’t worry. Here is what you need to do to get rid of the rust.

  • Take some sea salt and add it to dampened cast iron.
  • Take a soft sponge and scrub it.
  • The salt will then start working on it and will not just remove the rust but the oil too.
  • Wash away the salt and rinse your skillets and pots so they don’t rust again in the future.
